Fit Soft Serve. That seems like a trick, don’t you think? Such as “Low-Fat Soft Serve,” which is produced with excessively processed powdered milk and isn’t really healthier—or, if it is, tastes awful. But I assure you, this is the real deal.

It’s a treat that everyone will like, made entirely of frozen fruit and all-natural tastes (such lemon juice, cocoa powder, cinnamon, ginger, or other spices). Because bananas are inherently quite sweet, you don’t even need to add any additional sugar—not even a smidgeon of honey.

Ice cream made with bananas is not a novel concept. With so many versions available, it’s actually somewhat of a craze in the health food circles, and for good cause.

It tastes so damn good! So make this incredibly simple recipe the next time you have a yearning for a cone. It takes only a few minutes to prepare if you have frozen fruit on hand. In less time than it takes you to read this post, you could be eating it. How fantastic is that?

It’s not even the greatest part, though. Although this recipe is for Raspberry-Lemon Soft Serve, you can create a ton of other interesting tastes. Look them up:

Additional Tastes of Nutritious Soft Serve

  • Cherry-Vanilla: Replace half of the vanilla bean with the cherries and the raspberries with the lemon juice.
  • Blueberry-Ginger: Use 1/4 teaspoon of grated ginger root in place of the raspberries, and cut the lemon juice in half.
  • Straw-Banana: Omit the lemon juice and use chopped strawberries instead of raspberries.
  • Cinnamon-raisin: Replace the raspberries with 1/8 cup raisins, the lemon juice with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, and three bananas.
  • Chocolate: Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of cocoa powder or carob powder and omit the raspberries and lemon juice.
  • Chocolate-Mint: Prepare as directed above, except add 1 1/2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh mint.

  • two frozen entire bananas
  • Lemon juice, 2 tsp; omit for IC
  • one-third cup frozen raspberries

Instructions

  • In a food processor, combine all ingredients and pulse until smooth. Serve right away.
